The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation seeks a dynamic, innovative and results-oriented leader to oversee our strategic grant making in Philadelphia. 

Our program directors champion lasting, positive change that transforms the community, the people and their perspectives.

In Philadelphia, you will engage a wide range of thought leader networks; discover and maintain awareness of community issues, ideas and organizations. You will use your entrepreneurial experience and networking savvy to leverage resources to discover and develop innovative ideas and transformative opportunities. You will facilitate proposal development and the grant-making process. Your communications expertise will enable you to disseminate Knight Foundation's vision and knowledge to the community to improve impact.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus at least seven years of relevant experience
  • An entrepreneurial orientation to recognize and develop creative and transformative ideas
  • A skillful networker with an established record of building and maintaining relationships and networks
  • A proven community leader who motivates and directs others toward positive change
  • Demonstrated commitment to social change, and working knowledge of current social issues
  • Outstanding written and verbal skills including public speaking and presentation skills
  • Ability to interact collaboratively and collegially, working with diverse populations as well as a wide range of community audiences
